Waxing/Electrolysis

WAXING
Waxing is one of the more traditional methods of hair removal and one of the most economical.  Depending on the hair type and the area treated, re-treatment time is approximately 4-8 weeks and unlike shaving, the hair grows back with a tapered rather than a blunt end, so it doesn’t itchy or rough. Waxing is suitable for both men and women.

We use Australian Lycon hot waxes for precision work (Brazilians, Hollywoods etc.) or for small areas like eyebrows, lips and underarms. We use Lycon strip wax with a hygienic roller system for larger areas such as backs, arms and legs. Lycon hot waxes can cope with hair as short as one or two millimetres because it ‘shrink wraps’ the hair which means shorter hair can be grasped; it feels more comfortable to have done and gives a very smooth finish which lasts longer before new hairs appear.  Hot wax is much kinder to the skin, especially in delicate areas!

ELECTROLYSIS
This method of permanent hair removal is more suitable for small areas as only one hair is targeted at a time.  A very small needle is inserted into the follicle and a tiny electric charge is sent through the needle to destroy the follicle’s ability to regrow another hair. Like Plasmalite,  our Intense Pulsed Light hair removal system, only the hairs in the anagen (growing) phase will not regrow so a number of repeat sessions are needed to effect complete clearance .  Electrolysis is usually done in 15 minute sessions.
